Ascend vs Strong
Strong is a spreadsheet. Ascend is a climb. Both log lifts — only one shows long-arc progress.
Strong is the gold-standard barbell-tracker on iOS — used by serious lifters who want a clean workout log and no bloat. Ascend takes the same data and gives it a long-arc visual: every set pushes a climber up a real mountain. If the numbers in Strong stopped meaning anything to you by month three, you're the reason Ascend exists.
How they compare on the things that matter.

| Gamification | None | XP, AP, levels, mountain leagues | Ascend |
| Apple Health / Health Connect | iOS only, partial | Bidirectional both platforms | Ascend |

Where Strong beats us.
Strong's barbell-set UI is the cleanest in the category. If lifting is the ONLY thing you do and you live in iOS, Strong's a great pick — Ascend won't beat it on raw bar-tracking ergonomics. Strong also has better offline reliability for gym basements with no signal.
Where Ascend differs.
Ascend was built for the user who quit Strong by week six because the progression stopped being visible. We unify strength + cardio + nutrition + sleep into one mountain so you see compound progress, not isolated PR lists. Plus: real Android support, no per-feature paywalls, no ad SDK.
Switching from Strong — straight answers.
Can I import my Strong workouts?
Import is on the roadmap — Strong exports JSON, and Ascend's data model maps cleanly. We'll publish a CSV/JSON importer once we exit beta. Email us if you want early access.
Is Ascend as fast to log as Strong?
10-second workout entry is a core design constraint. We're at parity on barbell sessions; we're faster on bodyweight/circuit logging because of templates.
Do I need to give up Strong to try Ascend?
No — use both during beta. Apple Health acts as the bridge: Strong-logged workouts surface in Ascend via Apple Health if you let it.
